Anna B Savage - Also Human (Live)

Anna B Savage - Also Human (Live)

Anna B Savage is a singer-songwriter from London. In May this year released a collection of four songs simply titled EP, with the tracks numbered I-IV. Consisting of her sonorous voice and minimal guitar alongside flourishes of alternately understated and spiraling production, the songs felt like a furtive vantage point into an eloquent yet unflinchingly written diary. The EP won praise from NPR, The Fader, The Guardian and NME among others, with NPR including opening track ‘I’ in their Favorite Songs of 2015.

In June, Anna B Savage played a live show at Café Oto in London supporting Jenny Hval. Just her and an electric guitar in front of a captivated audience, the starkly visceral set was recorded in its entirety, featuring a new song called ‘Almost Human’, a cover of My Brightest Diamond song ‘Something Of An End’, and EP tracks ‘II’, ‘III’ and ‘IV’.

The two recordings are now available to listen to side by side, released as a limited 12” vinyl, marking the occasion of her UK and European tour dates supporting Father John Misty in October and November, including his Cambridge Junction appearance this month, as well as her first ever music release on a physical format.

For those familiar with EP, it’s a chance to experience the songs in a newly stripped back and raw presentation. For the uninitiated, it’s an opportunity to be introduced to an evocative songwriter and compelling live performer.
