Kudo Kamome - Neighbor's Dream

Kudo Kamome - Neighbor's Dream

Kudo Kamome is a Tokyo-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, originally from Kobe, Japan.
I first collaborated with this brilliant producer on my album Apple Sleep, released in February this year. His name is Sleepdealer. Many of you have probably heard of him.

Sleepdealer’s music combines a floating feeling with a sense of danger and steadiness. He is from the US and now lives in Japan. I met him once in person. My first impression of him was that he is like his music, relaxed yet powerful. Friendly.

On Apple Sleep, we collaborated on a song called Down. My melody lines and his floating beat fit perfectly together. I remember how much fun it was to write the melodies and record my vocals.

My wish to collaborate with Sleepdealer again came true. Every song on this new album is a joint production with him. Once again, I became excited when I first listened to the beats he sent me.

Sound recordings of everyday life, samples, beautiful keyboard sounds.

My first impression was “dream”, as if I was standing on the border of reality and a dream. I came up with the album title right then. Neighbor’s Dream

I made a discovery as if I was peering into a neighbor’s dream.

I kept all of the working titles as the official song titles. I wanted to absorb his dream, a neighbor’s dream.

I challenged myself by writing in English on this album. My past releases are mostly in Japanese. But this is a dream. I had a feeling that his beats and ideas would go perfectly with the album title.

I wrote lyrics, added drums to some of his beats, and recorded vocals.

Neighbor’s Dream is a mini-album containing a total of 7 songs. After Hamacide mixed the album and Yosi Horikawa mastered it, I once again realized that I made my most beautiful album yet.

Searching for new things and creating new worlds are struggles but very fun.

I would like everybody experience this never before seen “dream”.

In conclusion, I would like to thank you and everybody involved from the bottom of my heart.
