OSHIDAAYA - WOMAN(LP)
Aya grew up playing the piano and listening to her father’s record collection of German rock, Progressive Rock, Psychedelic, and Acid Folk. In her 20s she started playing the guitar and formed a girl band Stoned Green Apples with her friend Cass(drums). In 2008, they released two albums from Cruel-L records, one of the biggest indie labels in Japan. Two singles were remixed by Sakamoto Shintaro from the rock band Yura-Yura Teikoku, and DJ Kenji Takimi, widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in the Japanese underground scene. In 2009, Aya left the band to start her own family. But her love of music persisted, and started a new band called mma. The band released their first single in 2015, and Aya also succeeded in making her first solo album “World is Your Oyster”. Her 2nd solo album “WOMAN” came out in June 2018, and in September, she also released a cover song of STYLE COUNCIL’s “LONG HOT SUMMER” as single.
