Lowki - Autumn

Lowki - Autumn
Their track F.A.C.E conquered the blog-waves earlier this year, but just who are Lowki? According to their bio, they are “the result of a disaffected theatrical performer meeting the son of a South African jazz musician in a smoke filled London studio at 3am”. As you do.

They’re quite an eclectic bunch now, we’ll give them that. Consisting of singer-songwriter Sara, DJ/producer Zeké, multi-instrumentalist Sam, and drummer Alex, it’s no surprise that their sound is a melting pot of all these influences. On Autumn, their first proper little offering, Sara’s rich vocals glide over a smattering of melancholic beats and low-slung vibes. It all comes together like a dream – their PR bumpf says that the four don’t take kindly to comparisons but to be honest they needn’t worry. They’re so original that we don’t feel like they have one.

Lowki - F.A.C.E

Lowki - F.A.C.E

Prepare yourself for London based quartet Lowki’s brilliant debut, F.A.C.E., because the downtempo electronic song will set fire to your soul and resonate for all time with its haunting production and simmering emotion. Kwabs like male vocals pair with gorgeously immaculate female vocals on the spacious, minimalist song, with its James Blake meets Lapsley like sonic atmosphere. It’s a spectacular experience off Lowki’s debut album, Abstract Intentions, out in fall.
