5 Girls - Basement Tape
5 Girls are a rock band from Raglan, New Zealand, who formed in the early 90s, playing regularly in the underground rock/punk scene around the country with the likes of Head Like a Hole, Shihad, Pumpkinhead and made several appearances at the infamous punk rock capital Taranaki.
After a long hiatus, the girls reformed in 2016 and have been writing, recording, gigged with Japans’ Shonen Knife, Aussies ‘Hard Ons’ and Cable Ties. Also NZ faves Skinny Hobos, Slumbug, Miss June and many more.
The 6 song EP named Basement Tape, was released in December 2018, and the girls have another release planned before the end of 2020, in which is the heaviest yet.
Influences include Descendants, DK, Helmet, Queens of the Stone Age and Primus.
