JuliaWhy? - Starman

JuliaWhy? - Starman

Lyrics:
I just hallucinated, saw David Bowie in my bath
At least I know I’m going crazy
But I felt magic I never knew I had

Now I feel like I’m getting closer
To something that will comfort but kill
So they give me Lithium
To stop me from falling underneath

Chorus:
Mr Starman, put me back together again
Mr Startman, put me back together again
I fall together everytime I see you
I got lucky your stars they cut me deep

Verse:
Go ahead put it all in boxes
Pick me up, prescribe and divide
But two halves don’t feel like whole now
The joker will always be part of my deck of cards

So you made up my mind, to piece it back together
I did what I had to, doctors are so unkind

Chorus:
I fall together everytime I see you
I got lucky your stars they cut me deep
Please don’t leave now I’m getting closer
To something unreal that finally feels free

Mr Starman, put me back together again, Mr Startman, put me back together again

JuliaWhy? make ethereal punk just the way it should be – unabashedly honest and true to their own vision.

Fronted by songwriter and bassist Julia Wylie, with Caleb Jacobs on guitar and Sarah Fenn (aka Le Pie) on drums, Sydney’s JuliaWhy? reminisce with the pop grunge moments of Hole and Sonic Youth.

JuliaWhy? has toured extensively throughout Australia and Canada, won triple j Unearthed and played alongside some of their favourites including Waxahatchee, Hinds, Hatchie and Major Leagues.

The enduring quality of JuliaWhy? is unpretentious, clever and honest songwriting that is both beautiful and brutal. Wylie manages to write songs worth crying over and dancing to, while maintaining a political, anti-patriarchal message throughout. Julia draws inspiration from the stars, space and time; the mind and it’s ability to lift us up and take us down; the world - it’s pain and beauty.

JuliaWhy? is gearing up to release their second album titled ‘Hysteria!’ in May 2019.
