Charlotte Carpenter - Am I Alone in This?

British singer-songwriter Charlotte Carpenter is set to release her ‘How Are We Ever To Know’ EP this June 10th via her own label, Let It Go Records. She’s sharing the dark and soulful opening track, ‘Am I Alone In This?’.

“This song was the beginning of a journey; a first glimpse of a relationship where cracks and strains were beginning show,” Charlotte reveals. “I was very much inside my own head, I was too scared to voice my worries, doubts and fears and it left me feeling lonely and isolated. I was frustrated with myself for not being brave enough to speak up.”

Discussing the EP as a whole, Charlotte had this to day: “This EP is chronological of what happened during the demise of my first serious relationship. Each track expresses a different shade, colour or feeling right from before the break up happened to months after.

Charlotte Carpenter - Mean Time

Charlotte Carpenter - Mean Time
Northamptonshire-born singer-songwriter Charlotte Carpenter is a rising songstress,
gravitating readily towards an abrasive, and exciting blues inspired sound.

Receiving airplay from Huw Stephens, Lauren Laverne and strong support from indie and major publications such as For Folks Sake and The 405, Charlotte is steadily moving with a strong stride, refining her craft with every EP release.

Honing her stagecraft alongside fellow contemporary troubadours such as Marika Hackman, Ethan Johns and George Ezra, Charlotte’s spectral sound and live shows have won her considerable acclaim and demonstrate exactly why she will ‘soon be anointed alt’s newest darling.’

Of the video, Charlotte said; “I wanted to capture a daily routine of something which is physically demanding, and perform quite laborious tasks so was really lucky that the farm in my hometown were up for helping me out. They taught me their daily routine, which I went ahead and got stuck into, and it proved to be one of the hardest days I’ve ever worked. I went home with bruises and in dire need of a hot bath. I have a whole new respect for our farmers now”
