Lucy Luan - Poems of the Guzheng
Lucy Luan is a guzheng player, improviser, and traditional Chinese poetry & music explorer.
Poems of the Guzheng was created by Lucy Luan who has been playing music since childhood. She grew up along with the ancient Chinese zither-like instrument. On this release, Lucy has combined her love of music & poetry with her passion of traditional Chinese culture. This process has allowed her to more deeply understand Chinese people.
Throughout this album, the listener can hear Lucy’s own musical compositions, self-written poetry, and traditional pieces put to modern arrangements. In addition, there are collaborations with instruments from around the world; which was a creation based on her understanding of the bringing of traditional Chinese music to the world music category.
Lucy hopes to show how modern Chinese people express themselves poetically in our current world.
