Deer (Mx) - There's No Future

Deer (Mx) - There's No Future

There's No Future is our first LP. We created the songs and connected them based on our more intuitive sonic logic. We realized that all the tracks have in common the topic of the human nature in different phases and situations, and all those vignettes were narrated through our particular sonorous perspective. Every track has specific topics and particularities, however each one is the piece of the puzzle. The listener is the one who is going to interpret the final shape of the discourse.
The topics of the songs touch an apocalyptic perspective ( There’s No Future and The End of Times), but also can be a critic of the contemporary humanity absorbed by the “millenial” social constructions in politics and social behavior (Deaf and Dead Souls). The album has an intimate moment on Tale-tell H…, and makes of classical stories of East and West (The Divine Comedy and The Tales of Lizhai), a point of reflection of our shallow and deepest fears.

Canceled Plans - Stay in Place

Canceled Plans - Stay in Place

Written by: Michaela Stock
Produced with: Nigel van Hemmye
Recorded at: Assemble Sounds, Nigel's house
Mixed by: Michaela Stock, Nigel van Hemmye, Drew Elliot
Mastered by: Michaela Stock, Drew Elliot
Photo: Elijah Zuker

Canceled Plans is a band that makes music for people who like to stay home.
The solo project, by twenty-year-old Michigan-native Michaela Stock, is driven by pop melodies and production yet rooted in indie folk and Americana . In the year since its start, Stock has been placed on bills with artists like Michigander, Brother Elsey and All is Well in the state's most notable venues including Bell's Brewery, Mac's Bar, The Robin Theatre and The Pyramid Scheme.
Music wasn't always Stock's thing, though. After joining her dream ballet company in high school, injuries knocked her off of her feet and left her questioning what's next. While recovering, Stock picked up a guitar and started writing music at age 17. She played her first bill in April of 2017 and launched Canceled Plans on New Years Day in 2018.
"I never thought I'd play these songs outside my bedroom," Stock said of her originals. "Not to mention crowds and shows kind of freaked me out. I'd almost always rather be home with a book and tea then at a bar."
Despite this, Michaela finds herself going to shows weekly. She's started working for local bands and venues and has since fallen in love with the DIY scene. "I've made my best friends through music. I want everyone to experience this."
Canceled Plans began out of the desire to carve a space for introverts in a loud, flashy industry. Stock's goal for Canceled Plans is to send a message to the quiet ones that says, "I see you and I hear you, even if you're standing still in the back of the venue." As an introvert, Stock knows that dancing and singing isn't the only way to enjoy a performance, "Though it can be fun," she says. "Sometimes."
In 2019, Michaela is releasing her debut single. She plans to keep playing bills she's proud to support and working to open up the music industry to be more inclusive to all people, specifically to introverts and women.

THE WAiiT - Rebel Children MV

THE WAiiT - Rebel Children MV

THE WAiiT is a Taiwan neo psychedelic rock band founded by Frey and Lili in 2016. The group began as a home recording project. Frey writes, records, produces the music. Lili provides insight and inspiration, artwork and makes music videos. As a touring act, the project consists of Frey (guitar, vocals), Lili (bass, vocals), Sherry (drums).

The band was initially formed as a home studio project in 2016. Frey and Lili had worked together for years before these projects. In November 2015, the duo just finished their previous band Oscilloscope who formed in 2014 and played hard rock music. “I want to create a new style of rock music. It should be vintage and tastes like grunge” Lili said. Frey started to listen to the music which Lili suggested, and then wrote songs based on grunge, psychedelic rock.

After six months, the duo uploaded six self-produced tracks to thesixtyone, Sound Cloud and StreetVoice which caught attentions of musicians. At the same time, they enlisted drummer Xavi and started rehearsing as a band. In December 2016, they began playing at some local gigs.

Lyrics:
Take off the uniform
Jump out of the window
Paint on the silent wall
Blue wedding Yellow party

Sleep on the top floor
Someone knocks on the door
What happened should I know ?
Give me candy No more tricking

Now Fall in love
Rebel children
Lost in the haze of the cigarette

Don’t forgive us
Rebel children
Daub colors to the gloomy city

Just like to play around
It’s time to get to the bar
Baby won’t you have a fun ?
Passed out drunk then be picked up

Make noise in the concert hall
My girls sleep like (a) stone
Keep slap on the back of rail
With the music Modern classic

I wanna free I wanna dream Just wanna see
People live without res - triction

I wanna free I wanna dream Just wanna see
World change into the all-night club

Karolina Rose - Invicta

Karolina Rose - Invicta

Emerging from her sacred garden, she decided to express herself openly in song. Under a pale, crystal light, she began busily and dutifully pouring her passion into her poetry and melodies, inspired by her own transformation and sudden plunge into another world. She gave herself entirely until her heart burst. And then, she picked up the pieces and rebuilt herself, over and over. She continues to turn the other cheek. Her songs aren’t sad. They are more of a soul-searching journey with evident depth derived from both relatable life experiences and a learned mind. With her force-of-nature vocals, Karolina Rose is dark daydream art pop made out of fine poetic prose mixed with emotive, feminine power.

"..captures an essence of Blondie's wary and wry look at life. The vocals have a powerful and assertive richness to them." ~ AnalogueTrash

"..new big, sounding atmospheric track full of synth waves, god-like vocal range, and a strong story that is not touched on as much as it should be." ~ Eat This Music

"pop star belter vocals are paired with shimmering arpeggio synths and four-on-the-floor led drum programming" ~ The Joy of Violent Movement

“Move With Me” by Brooklyn singer/songwriter Karolina Rose is a beautiful synth-pop track with more than one nod towards some 80s classics." ~ glamglare

Potty Mouth - 22

Potty Mouth - 22

Potty Mouth arrived in the early 2000-teens as a feel-good punk rock force from the fabled Western Massachusetts scene. Formed while Einbinder and Mandanas were students at Smith College, and Weems a local rocker, they quickly made a national name for themselves with their brand of art-sensible power-punk wrapped in a catchy, fist-pumping package. Their Sun Damage EP in 2012 and their debut LP, 2013’s Hell Bent, put them on the map, and the subsequent years of touring and an acclaimed self-titled EP in 2015 reinforced their status as one of punk’s most rock-solid and talented upstarts.

In 2016, Potty Mouth moved to Los Angeles and began working with engineer Courtney Ballard to record a stockpile of songs they had created over the years since the release of their self-titled EP. This collection of songs have come together as "SNAFU," the band's forthcoming sophomore album being release March 1, 2019 on Get Better Records. The album was inspired by the band not comprising to the traditional standards of the music industry. "Our approach made things take longer, but it gave us more creative freedom," said Einbinder. "To have that flexibility was so helpful, and the amount we grew and learned during the making of this record is the product of a lot of patience and finding the right situation for ourselves. As artists trying to maintain control over this path we've taken together, the three of us have stuck it out for eight years now, and we're here for each other.”
