Although his musical talents make it easy to believe he’s always been a full-time musician, Rob Drabkin attended Trinity University in San Antonio, TX, where he graduated with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with the intention of becoming a doctor. His focus quickly changed after a family trip to New York. “My Dad played Jazz full time for 30 years before he got into medicine. On that trip, we re-connected with his old musician friends, and it was inspiring to see them giving their lives to music night after night for so many years. That was the night I dropped science and dedicated myself to music. After that moment, I spent every possible minute singing and honing all of the songwriting skills that I could.” He adds, “It's kind of embarrassing to admit, but I had an epiphany while watching the Broadway musical “Chicago.” I decided right then and there that I didn't want to work in a research lab for the rest of my life and that I wanted to pursue music full time even though I had never sung a note up to that point.” He took to Denver’s music scene quickly, and set his career into motion.

NINA is a German Synthpop / Synthwave singer-songwriter based in London, UK. Born and raised in Berlin, she began singing at the age of six and she moved on to classical training during her teens. NINA cites Depeche Mode as one of her early musical influences and currently counts Kavinsky as one of her fans.

NINA released We Are The Wild Ones in 2013, garnering her great media attention. The track was used in SyFy’s US TV Series Being Human (Season 4), which exposed her music to millions of viewers and the official music video for this track was premièred by Huffington Post, who described her music as ‘Lana Del Rey meets Robyn’.

NINA’s second single My Mistake released in 2014, was included in HUGO BOSS’ 20 Years Compilation, available on all HUGO BOSS stores worldwide. Other brands that licensed her music include ASOS, Adidas and Net-a-Porter for their online campaigns.

NINA’s first UK Tour was announced after a successful show at Liverpool Sound City 2014, as well as a US Tour supporting ERASURE (The Violet Flame Tour) in September, where NINA performed 7 dates around the East Coast.

NINA made a live appearance on US morning TV Show “6 In The Mix” – NBC6 (Florida) performing her latest single ‘My Mistake’. After receiving great reviews, NINA performed at the legendary CBGB’s Festival in NYC in October 2014 as well as the Pyramid Club, and she performed an exclusive acoustic session for City Winery New York.

At the end of 2014 NINA performed several shows around Europe including supporting MONARCHY in London, and touring with DE/VISION and MESH as their support act in Germany.
In April 2015 Mercedes Benz featured NINA's song 'My Mistake' on their European TV and radio advert, which also appeared on several stadiums around Europe. The track reached #6 in the UK Shazam advert charts.

In April 2016 Idolator premiered NINA's latest single Beyond Memory, produced by Richard X and Sunglasses Kid, which was one of the best selling pre-orders on iTunes UK and France and was released on May 27th 2016, with remixes by Ministry of Sound DJs Nilesh Parmar and Liam Keegan (currently on rotation on MTV Dance), as well as Swedish producer Oscillian.

'Beyond Memory' was played on BBC Introducing London in July 2016.

NINA was preselected for the 2016 MIDEM Artist Accelerator program, and that same year, Idolator included "Beyond Memory" in their "Top 10 EPs & Mixtapes of 2016" List. NINA performed at Canadian Music Week in May 2016, kindly funded by PRS for Music Foundation.

In 2017 NINA released her latest single "One Of Us" in collaboration with Metropolis Studios and M:UK label, which established her as the "Queen of Synthwave" and led her to multiple appearances at some of the most renowned Synthwave festivals around Europe. 'One Of Us' was premiered by PopCrush in June 2017.

NINA is currently working on her debut album with producer Richard X and Swedish Synthwave producer Oscillian.

The “creatures” in this song are both yourself and the problems you face in life; depression, addiction, bad relationships, or any issues you encounter every day. After all, they all start out as individually “benevolent”, but the problem starts when you try to push away and fight each other. That’s why I want to suggest to “take it by the hand, don’t look away”. Talk to those creatures, shake hands with them. This may not be the absolute solution to all problems, but at least a decent place to start.

Rié (pronounced ree-ay) Funakoshi - known simply as Rié - is a Japanese London-art school graduate who made her debut in the UK in the summer 2017 with the four-track EP Business Trips. A singer-songwriter of rare melodic grace whose music resonates with the lush splendour of Karen Carpenter and the acoustic intimacy of Suzanne Vega, news of the release comes in line with ‘St.Martin’ (Theme Park Mix) – the first track to be lifted from the EP - which seamlessly cuts between London and Tokyo, representing both her background and her journey to the UK.

Having studied Fine Art at London’s Central St Martins, she began to immerse herself in music shortly after graduating, which along with painting, became her defining characteristic. Following a deluge of songwriting the young woman who sports striking pink-streaked hair earned a deal with Sony Japan at the age of 19 under the recording name Rie Fu, earning herself widespread recognition with the release of her debut album at home. Subsequent albums followed, along with a stint performing on a series of Asian tours before Rié returned to the UK the next stage of her music career.
Rié possesses the ability to write about anything within her music, speaking about the influence behind this, she says: “There’s nothing I wouldn’t write about,” she says. “I’d welcome the challenge of writing about the most unexpected thing. Kate Bush writes about mundane things but makes them sound like magical fairly tales.”

Rié frequently combines her love for both fine art and music and her paintings can be seen in the artwork and visual video concepts with this EP. She frequently turns to Japanese poetry as a source of influence, something she says will often describe the ‘beautiful’ without ever being explicit. “Japanese poetry and writing are all about saying something through something else, implying obliquely,” she muses. “In a Japanese poem, if something is beautiful, you never use the word ‘beautiful’; you refer to it without spelling it out.”
