Burning Farm is the first album by Shonen Knife. It is almost entirely in Japanese, with only "Twist Barbie" on the original release in English. The Japanese 8" vinyl (Zero Records 0-0783) had eight songs. The CD re-issue bonus tracks "Parrot Polynesia", "Watchin' Girl" and "Banana Fish" first appeared on the Zero Records compilation LP Aura Music in November 1983. The other CD bonus songs are either "Watchin' Girl" and "Twist Barbie" live (Oglio Records), or "Ukkari Hachibei" and a cover of The Ramones' "I Wanna Be Sedated" (MCA Records, Japan). The album's cover was painted by bass guitarist Michie Nakatani. There are at least two pressings of the 8 inch record, with different labels and back covers. One back is black with a live photo, the other is yellow with a posed group photo. Both pressings misspell the third track as "Twist Barbie". K Records released, in small quantities, Burning Farm on audiocassette in the United States with a different cover and track listing. In 1993, Kurt Cobain listed it in his top fifty albums of all time.

The painting on the cover of a figure mourning is by Oakland artist Lena Gustafson, whose work focuses on what she has described as “how memories are stored in the body.” Fortune says the band picked her to create the art because her work is “post-body, which has a lot to do with what our album is about.”

The dual theme of political anxiety and personal experience is one Fortune began exploring in seriousness on Wax Idols’ third album, 'American Tragic', which Pitchfork proclaimed “smartly unpacks a pretty universal experience—the sadness, nostalgia, and occasional euphoria involved in letting go of something you once cared about, even when it desperately hurts.” 'American Tragic' was reissued in 2017 on the band’s label Etruscan Gold Records. The group also decided to self-release 'Happy Ending' on Etruscan Gold.

Wax Idols’ lineup on this new record is founder and frontperson Hether Fortune (vocals, guitar, bass, organ) with Peter Lightning (guitar, bass, organ, piano), Rachel Travers (drums), and Marisa Prietto (bass, backing vocals). Since the album’s completion, Bay Area musician Greer McGettrick (formerly of The Mallard) has joined the band on bass. Happy Ending was recorded in 2017 at Ruminator Audio in San Francisco, CA and produced by Fortune, Lightning, and Monte Vallier."

Fureasteen were originally formed in London in 1993 by Tomokazu Date,
who had previously played experimental music with Chez Holmes of Exit aka Nova.
At first Fureasteen were a four piece band of which only Tomokazu
was an experienced musician ( he preferred using japanese art school students with enthusiasm for making their own music).
Each sunday they gathered in a small Kings Cross flat to record experimental music using a cheap synthesizer and Casiotone keyboards.
Eventually in 1997 the band gained the attention of i Records who released a 7" single "Kasiotelemusik".Not long after its release the band split up.
To this day Tomakazu still makes music under the Fureasteen name.

are in One munites compilation album 'MINUTE PAPILLON'
from second languages (English Label) 2011.
and "Experimental Archirect" which is a cool five track mini album of
