New Jersey indie pop act Bitter’s Kiss brings that sweet bitterness aplenty on weathered, earthy song The Rope, for which the singer songwriter just released a radio edit. Pensive in a bewitching way and melancholic with a hint of eeriness, The Rope waxes dark and saturnine. Despite that gloomy quality, The Rope is an enchantingly gorgeous folk listen. Chloe Baker’s beautiful vocals gracefully drift along the song’s fine balance of organic, classical elements and atmospheric electronic ambiance. The Rope is the first single from Bitter’s Kiss’ self titled debut album, which Chloe Baker crafted together with her father.
Bitter's Kiss, current project of New Jersey-based singer/songwriter Chloe Baker, invites the listener into a world of joy, pain, sorrow and redemption that reflects the humanity in all of us. With a voice that is melodic, delicate and at times haunting, Chloe explores a range of styles as she describes her own observations and experience through music and words.
