Molina - Salvation
Copenhagen-based multi instrumentalist Molina releases the lead single ‘Salvation’ taken from her debut EP ‘Corpus’ out 24th March 2017 via KIll J’s label No3 Records.
Molina has created the perfect soundtrack to your teenage dreams; the six track EP is an 80s inspired synth pop collection packed with banger and edge in equal measure. Calling to mind the likes of Chairlift and Kraftwerk - who she counts as a key influence, Molina also takes inspiration from Martin Dupont, Philip Glass, Kate Bush and Aphex Twin. Speaking on its meaning she explains, “The EP is a tribute to me and my own body, and what it can show me mentally and physically. That’s why I called it ‘Corpus’”.
‘Salvation’, the first single to be lifted from the forthcoming EP, embodies that Kraftwerk – esque prominent 80s drum machine. Speaking on the track she explains, “For me it’s about letting go, enjoying the present and praising myself for who I am without having any disgrace.” The talented composer is not afraid to love herself, a message that should not go amiss in our modern society. After a first spin from Elton John on Beats 1, ‘Salvation’ was also included in Nemone’s Electric Ladyland Independent Woman’s Day special on BBC Radio 6 Music.
Molina is undoubtedly one of the most creative artists emerging in 2017. With her debut EP ‘Corpus’ sounding like an 80s synth pop dream blended with Japanese inspired vocals, this will not be a release to sleep on it when it drops 24th March. Submitted by James Butler/outpostmedia.co.uk
