Her debut release is an illustration of experiences from her childhood, past relationships, as well as feelings of inadequacy. By the end of the EP, you will find that she finishes out with a strong sense of self and realization; and just like the summer, it all comes to an end.
Cadence is a singer and songwriter out of Northern California. Her musicianship started at a very young age and like many artists, her musical background began in church. Here she began to develop her vocal ability, vocal styles, and passion for music and performing. Throughout middle school and high school Cadence joined every school musical, choir and anything involving music to develop her talent without interrupting with her sports. She played basketball, volleyball, ran track and also rowed on a Crew Team. In the fall and spring semester of 2011-2012 she attended Sacramento State University as a full time Student-Athlete. Being a full time rower required her to put her very young music career on hold.
Over the course of the summer after her freshman year in college, she made the tough decision to leave her life as a collegiate rower due to financial circumstances and began following her dreams. Finding a job was nearly impossible living in Stockton, California which was the largest mid-city to file for bankruptcy in 2012. As any jobless teen would do, she turned to the internet and began making YouTube covers and began networking on Twitter. Here she began to build a buzz and caught the eye of a producer by the name of Rawsmoov. By Mid-January of 2013 Cadence and Rawsmoov began writing and producing records to be released in January of 2014. Since leaving Sacramento State, Cadence has performed at many events and venues in Northern California including The Black Expo, Halftime Show for the Polynesian Bowl, The Golden State Warriors Talent Showcase, and was also an Opening act for Platinum Recording artist Mario, among many other events in Northern California.
Cadence steps into the scene as an Urban R&B artist and songwriter. She represents the female sound of the West Coast. Her sound is heavily influenced by West Coast Hip Hop and mainstream R&B, defining her edgy side to her R&B soul. Staying true to herself, Cadence draws inspiration from the music she grew up to love and appreciate. Although she mostly associates her current sound as Urban R&B, her musical upbringing ranges from Gospel, Jazz, R&B, Hip Hop, Reggae, Zydeco, all the way to Country music.
Cadence is a young fresh face and everybody wants to know who she is, where she comes from, and what she's all about. Native to the Bay Area and the Valley you can say that she is the definition of the All American Girl. She represents the girl next door and the girl around the block. You can think of her as the best of both worlds in her music and her personality. What she embodies resonates in her fashion, in her music, and in her presence. Cadence is young, sexy, strong, and extremely edgy yet tasteful.
