Yeule - Coma

Yeule - Coma

Yeule is Nat Ćmiel, an electronic musician based in Singapore and London. Born in 2012, the project seeks to draw out imaginary landscapes and reflections, channeling a meeting point between melodic digital bedroom pop and soothing ambiance etched together by Ćmiel’s whispery vocals, which lyrically echo themes of longing, death and eros. Described by Bandwagon Asia as a “prodigiously talented singer-producer,” Yeule has been integral towards Singapore’s burgeoning underground electronic scene.

“Coma” is Yeule’s first Zoom Lens release since her debut in 2014 with the eponymous “Yeule.” Since then, she has self-released a follow-up EP “Pathos” (2016), and the OST score for Nina Freeman's “Lost Memories Dot Net” (2017) - a game about early '00s teen chat & blogs. "Coma" expands on her ambient post-pop driven sound, mixed with a more downtempo, beat-driven mentality.

The EP namesake echoes the numbness felt passing through life, written to commemorate loss through death, parting, and distance. The memories are ultimately embraced, reminding oneself that within the spectrum of happiness, sadness, love, hate, compassion, regret, loss, grief and contentment - pleasure in this life cannot be had without pain.
